Due to the severe flooding that impacted communities in the Texas Hill Country on July 4, 2025, the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) has issued updated pharmacy benefit guidance.
For Members:
If you were affected by the flooding, you may now be eligible to receive up to a 90-day supply of medication, depending on your benefit plan. Please contact your pharmacy or our member services team for assistance with early refills or extended supply requests.
For Providers:
HHSC is allowing up to a 90-day supply of medication for impacted fee-for-service members, with a one-month supply limit per fill. Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) are encouraged to adopt the same flexibility to support impacted members. Providers should ensure that internal processes accommodate this extended supply and educate staff accordingly.
